Ifri's story begins in 1986 at the foot of the Djurdjura massif in Kabylia. The local mineral water spring gives the brand its name. In less than 40 years, Ifri became the leader of water and fruit beverages in Algeria.
What sets Ifri apart from many other Algerian brands: the company has built a professional European presence. In January 2018, it created Ifri European Partner (IEP), a subsidiary based in Paris, responsible for exclusive distribution in France, Belgium and Spain.
Unlike many Algerian brands requiring complex import procedures, Ifri has an official French subsidiary (IEP). This considerably simplifies commercial relationships, documentation and regulatory compliance. Martigane operates within this structured framework.
Ifruit was launched in 2002 in Algeria and quickly established itself as one of the country's most appreciated juice brands. Its positioning is clear and distinctive: zero preservatives, zero artificial flavourings, zero artificial colourings. Water (the Ifri spring), fruit and just a little sugar.
The Ifruit lemonade was the first reference commercialised by Ifri European Partner on the French market. 16.5% fruit content, only 7g of sugar — figures that perfectly meet European nutritional standards and the expectations of health-conscious consumers.
Five flavours launched in France: orange, citrus, lemon/lime, pineapple and green apple. Fruity sparkling drinks positioned on the premium segment of the "ethnic" aisle — but with recipes accessible to all consumers, not just the Algerian diaspora.
Orange, peach, apricot, strawberry, apple, mango, grape, lemon — the classic range. Plus more original references: Ifruit Apple-Strawberry-Grape with Milk (creamy texture, rich in vitamins A, C and E), 100% pure juice nectars, and still fruit drinks. Formats: 250ml glass (premium), 1L PET, 1L carton.
Ifruit's "no preservatives, no artificial flavourings" positioning is a powerful sales argument in France in 2025, where consumers increasingly scrutinise labels. It is the same discourse mainstream retail already holds on its own-brand products — Ifruit embodies it natively.
This is the crucial point for a B2B wholesaler: Ifruit is not limited to the community market. Its naturalness positioning, recipes adapted to European palates (less sweet than Algerian versions), and its refined packaging allow it to address a much wider audience.
For a wholesaler, this means you can offer Ifruit to community grocery clients AND to neighbourhood convenience stores or supermarkets in mixed urban areas.
Like Selecto and Ramy, Ifruit benefits from a very favourable TikTok and Instagram dynamic. Franco-Algerian influencers regularly test Ifruit juices on video, generating millions of views and creating pull demand. For a wholesaler supplying community grocery stores, your grocery clients do not need to run promotions — social media does it for them.
