Urea: the primary nitrogen fertiliser exported to Africa

Urea (CO(NH₂)₂) is the most widely used nitrogen fertiliser in the world with 46% nitrogen, the highest content among solid fertilisers. In Sub-Saharan Africa, where crop yields are structurally low due to chronic under-fertilisation, access to affordable urea is a strategic food security issue.

⚠️ Biuret attention

The biuret content (≤ 1%) is the critical quality criterion for agricultural use. Biuret above 1.5% is toxic to certain crops (citrus, vegetables). Martigane guarantees biuret ≤ 1% on all deliveries with supporting analysis certificate.
